Locally provided non attended cremation

We are able to offer a non attended funeral service (also known as a direct cremation).

This option involves the cremation taking place but without mourners in attendance.

The funeral director will select the date on which this is to take place and we will let you know this in advance. Once the cremation has taken place, we would contact you once we have your loved one's ashes in our care. This is normally within a few days of the cremation taking place.

We will sit with you to go through the paperwork and talk you through the whole process as we would with any other funeral arrangement.

Just because it is someone's wish not to have an attended funeral, we believe that they should still be given the same level of dignity and respect as with all our funerals.

The cost for a non attended service is £2,250. This includes everything needed to arrange this type of cremation.

How does our non service direct cremation work?

  • We are able to facilitate family and friends who may wish to visit and spend time in our Chapel of Rest.
    We give you your time to say goodbye.
  • We will dress your loved one in their own clothes if you wish us to and you may place items with them such as photographs and letters.
  • Unlike many other funeral providers, we use our hearse to transfer your loved one on the day to the crematorium. Other providers will often use an estate car or private ambulance for this.
